A Sock Hop at School??

ABSOLUTELY!

Today is the 50th day of school and Mrs.Ganio's and Mrs. Sagesse's kindergartners celebrated in style.  The focus of the day was, "The 50's."  The boys slicked back their hair while the girls finished their style off with a ribbon.  Students dressed up in poodle skirts, rolled up jeans, and denim jackets.  The fantastic musical sounds of the era played all day.  For morning journal students wrote about what they would like to be in 50 years.  During calendar time students compared the styles and fads of present day to past times.

At 1:00 the sock hop began.  The students worked the hula-hoop, tried the limbo, did the twist, and completed activities that involved the number 50.  The sock hop ended with root beer floats and English  Muffin pizzas!

Ohhhh the good old days!
