Modeling Our Writing after Quality Pieces of Literature

During Mrs. Iannello’s 4^th grade Power Up group, students are studying the structure of literature in an effort to create more comprehensive writing pieces.  The focus is summarizing, sequencing, and the importance of understanding an author’s perspective.  After closely examining several selections of literature the students used an app on the iPad II to create a class cumulative story. Then they began writing their own pieces.   As a final project the students are creating a mulit-media photo story.
