Dinner and a Show!

Our recent PTO supported Dinner and a Show was a huge success!  Families had a opportunity to enjoy a FREE home cooked ziti dinner and then enjoy a fantastic show afterwards.  After reflecting on the evening we probably should have called it -
Dinner and Dancing!
Skip West's music got parents and children shaking and moving!
Check out the videos and pictures below...

Thank you to Dominoes, Hannaford, and Foti's for their generous donations.

IT IS ELECTION DAY!

Mr. Zeh's students took the "school lead" on learning about the election process.  They prepared a short power point about the process and presented it to students in grades 4th-6th.  They also created an election booth and
encouraged students to get out and vote!

Long lines....

Third Grade Auction

In Mr. Sider's third grade classroom students manage their own "bank accounts."  They receive daily classroom dollars for handing in their homework assignments.  Once a month Mr. Sider conducts a class auction that allows students to purchase various items. Since the items are pretty fantastic - they learn quickly how important it is to be careful with their funds.

WHO GAVE US WHAT? WOW!

If you see someone from NORTHERN EAGLE BEVERAGES - say, "THANK YOU!"

With support from the United Way, Northern Eagle Beverages donated $1500 to Riverside Elementary!  The money will go towards our, "Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good!" project.  Students in grades 4th, 5th, and 6th will each receive gift bags filled with age appropriate hygiene products - brush/comb, hair supplies, hair clips, nail file/clipper, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush etc!

Engaged 4th Grade Students!

Look at all the hands in the air! Mrs. Benjamin's students ROCK!

Students squeezed in a few minutes of reading after they completed a test
I LOVE MY BOOK WORMS!

Third Graders!

It is Angie's birthday!  The class celebrated with cupcakes and a birthday song.

Tim and Liz  presented their stories to the class!  Students provided positive feedback.  What a great way to build confident writers!

A Forest of Fantastic Families

Our first grade students are creating family trees.  Each tree represents a family member.  This project kicks off a unit focused on giving thanks.  Students will be writing about what they are most thankful for!
